Evening Grosbeaks are never predictable in Texas.  There was a small group of these birds present during the first few months of 2003 at Lake Tanglewood, southeast of Amarillo.  Thanks to the persistent efforts of Barrett Pierce, I was finally able to see 3 of these birds (below) on 9 March 2003.
