Selected birds seen at Hornsby Wastewater Treatment Facility in January 2005:

2 January - The Long-tailed Duck that spent much of the winter on the west side of Pond 2.

2 January - A male Common Goldeneye that stayed for a few weeks on the east side of Pond 2.

2 January - An unusual wintering Western Sandpiper on Pond 1W.

8 January - A Winter Wren along the river.

8 January - The Ash-throated Flycatcher that spent some of the winter at Hornsby - here in the northwest fields.

10 January - One of three Grasshopper Sparrows in the northwest fields.

15 January - The wintering Ash-throated Flycatcher, this time down-river from Platt Pond.
